February 18th marked four months since Jessica Watson departed Sydney Heads and she’s already crossed back into the eastern hemisphere. Suffering from a short time with slow winds, the sails have picked up at 30 knots and she’s “flying along, covering lots of lovely miles to the south and east.”
Although reluctant to head into cold weather, her travels are taking her through a shorter southern route towards the Cape of Good Hope.
Although showing normal signs of weather fatigue from non-stop sailing, Ella's Pink Lady and her rigging seems to be holding up quite well to the elements.
All of us at SatCom Global wish Jessica continued luck for a swift, warm, and safe finish.
